Did you know that a planet which is completely made up of diamonds exists !!!This fact is extremely hard to believe, however it is true.
In the year 2012, a team of scientists working at the Yale University located in New Haven, USA, published a study which announced the identification of a new planet which was extremely rich in diamonds. The planet, called 55 Cancri e , is most probably “covered in diamond rather than the usual covering of water and granite “, the scientists explained at that time .
This massive exoplanet is more than twice the size of Earth but has more than eight times its mass. This super-planet is located approximately 40 l
ight years away from the Milky Way galaxy. This planet is 25 times closer to its star than the planet Mercury is to our Sun. Temperatures on that planet have reached 6000 degrees Celsius, according to NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre. 55 Cancri e, has at the very least, an estimated value of around $26.9 nonillion, which looks something like this - $26,900,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. A trip to this planet would probably cancel out all the costs to reach this planet. A 2020 scientific report published by the American Astronomical Society claims to have finally cracked the science behind these diamond planets. Researchers led by the team of scientists at the Arizona State University explained that diamond planets are bound by a certain type of star that have a high carbon to oxygen ratio, where carbides dominate over silicates.
