Chapter 1: Fragile hearts
Parallel to his mood, the weather was gloomy and overcast with grey clouds hovering above in the dull blue sky. Living in a small town in California, Kyle a fourteen year old orphan was shaken terribly about an incident that occurred a few years ago. He was not an advocate of birthdays, the reason being that his parents died in a car crash on the same day five years ago, making him the only survivor of that horrendous accident. Kyle currently lived with his aunt and her husband. His birthday was the next day and he couldn't face the trauma that he would have to battle against. He would occasionally visit his parents' burial ground before going to school, to feel a bit closer to them and revive the few happy memories he shared with them. His parents would always celebrate his birthday lavishly and would fulfil all his wishes, but after their death he was miserable, he never celebrated his birthday since. Today was intolerable, Kyle had never been as downhearted and dejected, he couldn’t get the courage to visit his parents, he was sad and it pained him too much. On his way to school heavy showers began to plummet onto the concrete surface of the earth. It was the birth of a violent storm. Even though Kyle walked like an aimless wanderer, he noticed everything happening around him, wet birds searching for a shelter, astonished travellers running around searching for something to save them from an obstacle on their path, young homeless children running around not knowing how to save themselves and many more unusual sights that gave his heart a little wake up call.
Chapter 2: Overlooking sadness
Although he came across some touching incidents, he did not feel anything and continued walking towards his destination. The thought of homeless youngsters troubled him throughout the day and was the reason he could not sleep at night. He kept tossing and turning wondering what would have happened if his rich parents hadn't left behind money for him to have the basic necessities to last a living. It was finally the next morning. The day which Kyle despised the most. As soon as he woke up, he thought that he would celebrate his birthday for the first time. On observing these pitiful sights, his heart melted and he decided to play his part and give back to society in the best way possible. This is why he thought of something which would prove to be a new way to live for him. Instead of living in sadness and isolation, he would now live in happiness and gratitude.
Chapter 3: Kindness, a new way to live
Kyle went to the supermarket to buy food items, bottles of water, clothes and many more items that are required for a basic living. He took these items and travelled from road to road giving them to homeless people and weary travellers. With the remaining items, he went to an orphanage and gave them to the children there. These sights filled him with joy but his heart still felt unsatiated, something still troubled him, but he did not know what it was. After a few more sleepless nights he thought that he should do even more for the betterment of society. After observing many more pitiful sights, it finally struck him. The thought of homeless people had troubled him so much that he wanted to open up a community center where the needy could find a place to live in safety and tired travellers could find a place to rest. He remembered that he had an old plot which was owned by his parents and after seeking permission from his guardians Kyle requested them to help him begin the construction of the community center. In a short span of two years it was finally built. Kyle thought to himself that possessing the luxuries of life is not the true source of happiness but performing acts of gratitude is what fills up that void of satisfaction.
Chapter 4: The conclusion
In this way, Kyle, a fifteen year old orphan, was a pioneer of the modern age. Though he led a life without parents to support him, he paved a path in which the future generation could live safely and have a roof of protection above their head. Kyle in a way made the rapidly changing world a safer and happier place to live in. In conclusion, I would like to say that everyone goes through hard times in life, but those who find a way to overcome these hardships are true heroes. Age is just a number and everyone can perform good deeds in life, it is not necessary that only an adult or a child can perform them.
Everyone lives for themselves, that's not a big deal, but living a life for others enhances yours by a thousandfold.
