Autism

What is autism? It is a condition wherein, a person has to face certain challenges in life, such as challenges in social interaction, speech, non-verbal communication and repetitive behaviours. Hence, through this article, it is my intention to convey its effects and how we can help.

Autism is of 5 types; Asperger’s syndrome, including inflexibility in thought and behaviour and difficulty interacting with peers at school or home. Rest syndrome includes loss of standard movement and coordination and challenges with communication and speech. Child Disintegrative Disorder includes lack of some motor skills and social skills as well as adaptive behaviours and Kanner’s syndrome which includes lack of emotional attachment with others and uncontrolled speech. However, this condition can be cured with the support of parents and peers. Many famous personalities who are today recognized as legends have been diagnosed with this condition. For example, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Albert Einstein, and Dan Aykroyd.

In conclusion, people living with this condition should be treated with equal respect and not be denounced by society.

We should be helping such individuals and not give up on them because even they are humans. In the future, I hope people don’t see autism as a curse but as a condition that can be healed with love, patience, and hope.
