When people think about having a successful career, they assume they need degrees. CA, MBA, Medical… the list goes on. All us young students worry about is our college applications, further studies, and so on. Students aim for degrees in hopes of a stable job, not realising how far just their own talents can get them.
But now in the twenty-first century, things have changed. Various career paths, unavailable and probably unthinkable before, are open now. A small talent can convert to a life-changing career. Hardwork and determination can be enough to reach your most unrealistic goal. Enough work and reflection on a simple skill can be quite significant towards career development.
As an example, take social media today. People use so many different and creative ways to showcase their talents and skills. YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other such apps have quite literally become career platforms. Being an ‘influencer’ is a career, and it doesn’t happen to require any kinds of degrees.
Sports is another fulfilling career where degrees make no appearance. Music, acting, you name it. In today’s world, there’s so many ways to be successful. It should always be about what you want to do, where your interests and passions lie. That’s why academics aren’t everything, and you shouldn’t let a low score on an exam demotivate you.
So, while degrees might help, they only get you so far. In the end, it is always your own unwavering dedication that will shine through and land you where you want to be.
