Domestic Violence : A Not-So-Called Crime

Domestic violence, or domestic abuse can be defined as a pattern of behavior in the partner that is used to gain or maintain power and control over their significant other. Abuse is in many forms physical, emotional, financial, etc. it is the threat of action that influences the way that a person behaves. This includes behavior that frightens, manipulates, terrorizes or injures an individual. Domestic violence can happen to anyone no matter what their caste, greed, gender is. Victims of domestic violence can include spouses, children or practically any member of their household.

An example of how domestic violence is the Tubi superbowl commercial. Tubi aired a commercial on february 11, which made people believe that someone was changing the channel. The commercial was highly realistic that people actually thought that someone in their household was changing the channel with a remote. Everyone thought that it was confusing yet funny but the case was very different for many homes.

People posted videos on social media about how people in homes, restaurants and public screenings instantly raged up in a moment. Partners immediately take their anger out on wives, children and other members of their household. Some people who went online to see some funny and confusing moments of the same were shocked to see something much more scary and disturbing. When people were blaming Tubi for a commercial of this type, there were people who tried to defend Tubi. However, Tubi should have foreseen these types of reactions to their commercials.

Physical abuse can happen to anyone and victims tend to hide it in terms of shame, humiliation or just because of the pressure of their abuser. A victim changes in many ways when they are being abused. It could be mentally, emotionally or behaviourally. If you perhaps see your acquaintance wearing long sleeves when it is hot, or constantly trying to hide something and being overly conservative there is a chance that they could be physically hurted.

They could be losing interest in something that they loved or maybe just be overly apologetic and meek. People who are getting abused may be feeling completely different than their normal self, they could be very anxious or nervous. They might be too quiet instead of their normal bubbly self. They can start being jumpier or flinch more often when you get closer to them. Having weird sleep schedules or having nightmares. They could be having unexplained injuries or having explanations that do not match or make sense with their injuries. These are some signs that a person is or might be getting abused.

There are ways in which you can help a loved one or just somebody that is in need. You can proceed and call authorities, you can listen and tell them that they are not alone and have your support. You can tell them to stay strong and express concern and tell them to handle this legally. If ṣyou see these signs in any individual do not force them to spill out a major problem of their life, let them come around and confide in you on their own timeline and whenever they feel comfortable.
