Endangered animals

Earth has over 30 million animal species each more beautiful and more unique than the other.

These species have harmoniously coexisted with each other for thousands of years to form the magnificent tapestry that is mother nature. Unfortunately due to the destructive actions of mankind many of these species have gone extinct and many more are critically endangered due to the destructive actions of mankind .

Here are a few of them-

Ivory Billed Woodpecker:

It is found in hardwood forests. They have white neck stripes and are extremely beautiful. They are generally found in North America but the Destruction of the woodpecker's mature or old-growth forest habitat caused populations to decline, these beautiful creatures were feared extinct for almost sixty years until they were later found in 2004 in Arkansas even now only a handful remain.

Amur Leopard:

Located in Russia's primorye forests the region is very snowy and cold. The leopard used to be found in Korea and China, it is able to run up to 37 miles per hour, can leap 19 feet horizontally and about 10 feet vertically. It is a magnificent creature. Agile and strong, it carries and hides incomplete kills so that they are not taken by other predators. Only 84 are left as of today.

Java rhinoceros:

It has a 10 inch long horn and appears dusky gray with the skin looking like armour plates. They are very pleasing to observe. There are less than 68 alive today in Ujung Kulon National Park in Indonesia.

Northern Right whale:

It has a dark gray body with extremely noticeable white calluses on its head. The whale has a wide back without any dorsal fin and a long, curved mouth that begins above the eye.

Only 300 or so remain near the Canadian and US coasts.

The Saola:

It is also known as the Asian Unicorn. It is found in Vietnam but seen very rarely. They have two horns with sharp ends and they are said to be endangered as they are seen very rarely.

We must all do our very best to protect them for we owe all these creatures that have been slaughtered without remorse. We owe them a moral debt and we must do our very best by protecting these animals else their blood will be on our hands .
