‘I need to immediately look up for my new successor, my retirement term is almost going to cease’ said Mr.Brown agitatedly as he jolted and got up slamming the table, the boss and owner of an efficient engineering company the ‘MAXIM ENGINEERING’ was very distressed about his retirement and concerned about future of this firm since he was going get his retirement two weeks after. He had to look up a successor as he did not have any progeny. The establishment was run well and had become one of the most successful and fine engineering companies since Mr. Brown took over. He thought of himself as the supreme. He was too pompous and self-opinionated.
Mr.Brown began to observe and choose the most meritorious, best deserving employee in his firm. He had a lot of regard in the society and hence to keep up with this said esteem he went an extra mile to assure that the upcoming head was impeccable. All the employees too burned the midnight oil to make an impression on Mr. Brown. Three days passed by detecting each one and all. Since he was very able, he made an extensive list and went through the diligent employees. Mr. Brown scanned through the list and commented, ‘Sarah, well she is a good organiser and coordinator, she is good at communicating clear visions but she is too ill-tempered and is resistant to change’ next ‘John is always late at work’ Mr.Brown struck off both names from the list
‘Rosh Huh he is too greedy’ ‘Miah can bridge poor communication skills with others’ said Mr.Brown turning his office chair constantly with pensive expressions scattered on his countenance. He criticised all the employees . Continuously racking his brain for a long time now. Dusk had set off and the shades of pink-orange and blue were dissolved in the wide sky so he urged himself to take a coffee break. He called his very best friend Daniel up to meet him at the nearest cafeteria. His friend arrived at his destination and called out Mr.Brown in glee. Both sat slurping their cold coffee and relished their blueberry bagels. Daniel instantly identified that his friend was anxious about something since he was not as lively as he had always been when he met him. He questioned Mr.Brown about his trouble. Mr.Brown described the entire account of his misery. Daniel explained to him that one mistake has led to the entire anxiety, that is, he failed to look at the better parts of his employees.
“EVERY COIN HAS TWO SIDES!” he exclaimed. “No matter what, both sides cannot be seen at the same time. Just like the coin, even a human has a dual nature. But, just because you can't see the other side doesn't mean that there isn't any. In the same way people, things or situations can be different from what you see or what hear about them. It does not exactly mean whether you are right or wrong. Its just that you are not aware of the other side of the person. The opinion you have made is just based what you have seen in the past three days, before making an opinion about someone it is important that you look to the other side of the coin too, also it all depends on the side or our perspective of seeing others that is whether we want to see head or tail – good or bad.
Instead of finding and pointing out follies in others, we should learn to appreciate the better side of humans. We should be good and see goodness in others rather than blemishing them.” Lost in their own thoughts, with chins tucked in their chests. Mr Brown’s eyes shone with amazement. Daniel’s thoughts had indeed left him dumbstruck. Mr. Brown said, “Rightly said ''. He expressed that his thinking had left an everlasting impact on his mind and influenced him greatly. Mr Brown decided to finally follow the piece of advice provided by his dear friend. Mr. Brown paid the bill and both sidled down the aisle merrily.
