How the Times Have Changed Us

We’re the kids who spent a couple of years in lockdown and honestly, it isn't all that great.

Before the pandemic we were all different people. Not meeting your friends physically during school, and putting electronics and technology before everything else, are things which we could've never imagined. Almost every one of us has faced some or the other situation which has left us completely confused about everything. But all of us have found a way to deal with this.

In the process of this online era we have missed out on so many things. School trips, movies, celebrations, festivals, ceremonies, etc; all brought us joy and pleasure. Now our happiness lies in completing that video game level or posting the perfect picture. Even when it comes to studying, I am able to understand better while school remains offline. Some of you may disagree with me, as we all have unique mindsets and we all function differently. I’m sure that in the future, kids reading history books would give anything to be us, so that they could stay at home and do nothing. Little do they know that this pandemic was more frustrating than they could ever imagine.

We have all changed over the last few years. Realising that school years are close to ending, fearing the future, feeling anxious over career paths and wanting to chase dreams which we thought we were incapable of achieving. These are some things which we all may have experienced during these years. The pandemic has given us feelings of both happiness and distress. It left us with a lot of time for exploring ourselves and finding more hobbies. But it also caused some of us to attach ourselves to electronics, filling us with social anxiety as we had almost no physical interaction with our near and dear ones.

Honestly, before the pandemic we would all be happy if there was a vacation for a really long time. But now that the cases have decreased all we want is for our lives to return to the way before Covid- 19 struck. However, no matter what happens we’ll always be the kids who survived the Covid- 19 global pandemic.
