The night is captivating. That’s why I prefer it over other times of the day. As someone living in the city, the night stays alive even when the people are dead asleep. The street lights illuminate the roads as the stray cats and dogs roam around with more freedom. Most of the house lights are turned off but the few lights that do remain on, grant us with a peculiar feeling. If that was not enough, the enchanting sky filled with twinkling stars and a moon peeking through the clouds completes the view.
The night is the only time I feel free. I feel as though I have the liberty to do anything I yearn for. An introvert like myself enjoys time alone. I am occupied with school, tuition and homework throughout the day. So finishing my tasks by the end of the day and laying in bed, looking out the window at the mesmerizing stars puts my mind at ease. Everyone around me radiates a quiet, relaxed aura that allows a peaceful mood to take over me. Walking through a park while listening to music creates the impression of an alternate reality around me and clears up my thoughts.
People, having completed a tiring day of work or school, are less irritable at night. This prevents unnecessary arguments. Conversing with people when they are tired allows them to open up more. The night is also meant for us to sleep and rejuvenate for the next day. Another reason night piques my interest is because I look forward to the diversity of my dreams. Sometimes they make no sense, other times they have a planned-out plotline. The distraction from the daily school work ameliorates my mood and energizes me. I am enthralled by the interesting facts about the night. Nocturnal animals’ pupils widen, allowing them to absorb more light. There are over a hundred octillion stars in the universe. The brain waves slow down at night and relax the eye muscles. The nighttime has a glorifying effect on me and countless others, making me prefer night time over the rest of the day.
