Not only our generation, but even the older generations are addicted to the phone, which we can’t even live a day without. It is essential for daily life, but social media is another issue…
It is a known fact that we can't live without it, but we should learn how to balance it with reality.
I’m sure every single teenager faces insecurity. We get insecure seeing women or men have an unrealistic life or body, we know that it isn’t real but the impact it makes on our lives is huge. The urge to continue seeing their perfect life while ours falls into pieces and to run away from reality but when you return, you see what you have destroyed.
Social media temporarily distracts us from reality and exposes us to a whole new world which is honestly good and bad at the same time. It gives us unrealistic views of other people and pressures us to be like them. It still leads to anxiety, insecurities, depression, cyberbullying, and more.
Constantly checking your phone to see if you got any more followers or likes on your post is not the most important, all it does is discourage you from working towards your goal.
While social media inspires you to try new things, it makes you lose belief in yourself and lowers your self-esteem. While it destroys our mental health, it gives us a chance to connect with new people. So was it made for the good, or is it just an addiction?
