The Evolution Of Lamborghini

The founder of this trillion dollar company was Ferruccio Lamborghini who had served in the second world war. After the war, having acquired many military units, Ferruccio converted them into tractors. Soon Ferruccio started business for his real passion of supercars.

Ferruccio produced his first ever Lamborghini sports car in May, 1964 – the Lamborghini 350GT. It could go from 0-60mph in just 6.8 seconds. A similar car– the Lamborghini 400GT 2+2 was produced in 1966. By the mid-late 60s the company had gained plenty of recognition as a serious manufacturer of a quality sports car. The raging bull was here to stay for centuries untold.

In 1969 the production of the legendary Lamborghini Miura had begun. Famous celebrities like Elton John and Frank Sinatra owned this car. On this Frank Sinatra quoted that – “YOU BUY A FERRARI WHEN YOU WANT TO BE SOMEBODY, BUT YOU BUY A LAMBORGHINI WHEN YOU ARE SOMEBODY”. Also between 1968 and 1970 the 4 seater Lamborghini Islero, and Espada were produced. The Espada at that time was the most produced Lamborghini car. ‘Espada” in Spanish meant a sword and the car looked sleek and shiny like one.

Instead of redesigning the Islero, the company produced the Jarama. By now the company had gained confidence and produced newer cars with newer designs. The company then made a successor to the Miura, the Countach which had gained popularity due to its new shape and scissor doors. Then the Lamborghini Jalpa, the offroad LMOO2, and the Diablo SV continue to be liked by the population. The Lamborghini Reventon was a limited edition masterpiece produced in 2006. In 2010 another Lamborghini – Sesto Elemento was a legend and was presented at many car shows in Europe and Asia due to its marvellous shape and speed.

In 2013 for its 50th anniversary the company made the unique one seater cockpit Egoista, similar to that of a modern fighter jet. It had shades of grey and orange with red LEDs in its tires making it bold. The Lamborghini Veneno was the fastest and most expensive model of theirs released in 2014. It cost an insane 4 million dollars. Also the Lamborghini Aventador SV and Centenario were two of the most famous cars and the Centenario being convertible. Then Lamborghini released the futuristic concept car developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology was created in 2017.
