“The Internet is a Series of Tubes” - United States Senator, Ted Stevens remarked in 2006, while many people agreed, and many disagreed, there is a slight glimmer of truth in what the Senator had said, for the internet in today’s day and age has taken everything to the next level - in positive and negative aspects both; whether that be through memes/”bad tik tok content” or through Google Classroom allowing education to reach every corner of the globe making it far more versatile.
While being regarded as a place for great opportunities and chances, The Internet also has its fair share of cons - For example, most of the content is uncensored, making it very easy for a person of younger age to maybe stumble upon explicit media or info, although going back to the previous point, opportunities and chances; Social Media itself has allowed it to be so much easier to advertise your businesses or even find a job, whether that be through promoting your small businesses through Instagram or starting a YouTube channel (YouTube provides $3 per 1 Thousand views).
Now all of this may sound great, but there’s another twist, Privacy. Throughout its existence, the internet has had a major problem of privacy, it is very easy for hackers to be able to find out everything about you, and the more you think about it, the scarier it gets. Someone may just open your social media account, see your email and find enough information about you to maybe even forge documents, make statements, or even make transactions and payments.
In a Nutshell -
The Internet is a wonderful place full of Pros, but every Pro has its own Con, the pros are - Gaming, Social Media, Business, Being updated on Current Affairs, Fame, Money/Crypto, etc, and the Cons are - Leakage of personal information, Loss of money, Exposure to Explicit Content, etc.
