The Joker – Best Villain Ever ?

Why so serious? This word often triggers the memory of The Joker in one’s head. For a fictional character, The Joker has had quite an impact on society much more than any other villain.

In the world of film, there is no shortage of villains, but Joker is the very definition of evil in the movie Dark Knight. The Jokers appearance is bold and chilling. The character he portrays fascinates audiences around the world. As opposed to other super hero movies, the villain gets as much attention as Batman in this movie. It is a certainty that one will be frightened by the Joker at first sight. It is hard not to see something sinister about the Joker, as the clown-like appearance evokes many childhood fears, and the scars trace a sinister smile upon the man's face, leaving one to wonder what he is smiling about. One of the many ingredients that contribute to the recipe for the Joker's evil behavior is his genius and disregard for his own safety and his wittiness. The joker’s genius lies in his ability to devise clever ways to exploit emotions within his victims. The joker has given us many memorable lines like , “As you know, madness is like gravity...all it takes is a little push.”” , “Someday someone will break you so badly that you’ll become unbreakable.” and “If you are good at something, never do it for free.”

Despite not being the toughest or biggest villain, the Joker is considered the most dangerous. The fact that he is so smart makes him so dangerous, as Batman would win hands down against The Joker in a fist fight. He always has a plan for everything he does, the Joker is a master planner. In this way, he always has a clean getaway. It may be because everything he does is suspenseful that he is my favourite villain . There is literally no way of knowing what to expect.

Arthur Fleck was not born The Joker , circumstances and the attitude of people towards a mentally disturbed soul that gradually turned him into the monster we know today . There is a learning in this for the society to be more tolerant and empathetic in our behaviour towards others , so that there are no more distressed souls like Arthur Fleck.
