The Mysterious Island

“Hey, Leo where are you going? Stop there!” I said but this bellow fell on Leo’s deaf ears.

I stretched my indolent arms and yawned as loud as a lion’s roar. The second time I yawned as softly as an adorable kitten’s purr. I could see the giant ball of fire spreading its warmth like a grin. The scorching orange orb made the surroundings as blistering as a furnace. The colossal sky was as clear as a crystal. Opulent buildings were kissing the prodigious sky. The trees were asking for a way out. A murder of grisly crows was perched on towering trees. A volery of birds chirped sonorously which resonated in everyone’s ears.

I scratched my head like a monkey to remember what I had to do. Out of the blue, I remembered that I had to take my adorable dog whose name is Leo for a walk. I then gave my dog his nutritious breakfast and took him for a walk. We went to this dense forest as it was a stone's throw away. In the dense forest, there were luscious bushes, resplendent flowers which were as colourful as a new box of crayons, and towering and robust trees. Like a bolt from the blue Leo sniffed something awkward and dashed like lightning and his leash was out of his neck. I commenced chasing Leo. Eventually, I caught sight of Leo and found him in the bushes. When I reached there out of the blue it sucked us into a blackout.

When we woke up, Leo and I saw that some animals had enveloped us. We were petrified. I was on pins and needles and shuddered like a freshly caught fish. I assumed that they were kindhearted when they were chatting among themselves, therefore I narrated the strange events which took place not long ago. But while they were talking among themselves it struck my mind that this was impossible.

I was starting to feel that things were awry. The animals could talk and fly, rabbits apparently hated carrots but pranced on water, snakes capered from one tree to another, birds could swim, monkeys hated bananas, and bats were awake all the time. Ants were the biggest creatures whereas dinosaurs were the smallest yet the most perilous animals present over there. Sharks were only five feet and could walk on land. Blue whales were as big as sharks. Tortoises and turtles had no shells on their backs. Sloths were the fastest animals whereas cheetahs were the slowest. The slyest animal was the bald eagle.

They shed some light on their master to me. They said that if any outsider came, he would immediately make the animals kill the outsiders and could take full control over them. Their master had a head of a lion, the tail of an elephant, body of a giraffe, legs of a sloth, beak of an eagle, eyes of a falcon, and the claws and camouflage of a leopard. His body would camouflage with the surroundings. He even had the horns of a bull.

They resolved to help Leo and I and tried to keep us hidden as they did not like their master and his doings. They described him as evil and cruel. The animals told me about the cruelty they needed to deal with all the time and I was frightened and began to shiver like jelly. They decided to check on the bald eagle as he usually used to go and tell the master whether an outsider had come or not. Infelicitously they saw that the bald eagle was nowhere to be found and assumed that he had gone to tell the master that Leo and I had come to the island.

They told Leo and I to hide inside the river. The river’s water was as cold as ice. When the master had arrived, he seemed as indignant as a wasp. His eyes flashed like lightning, his voice boomed like thunder, and his temper erupted like a volcano. In the blink of an eye, he got everyone in his control. The bald eagle had spotted us. We both then dashed like lightning and resolved to hide on top of a tree. Unfortunately, the master caught us and he took us to his palace. They had handcuffed our hands and took Leo somewhere else. In a flash, I got a bee in my bonnet. It was that at night I would go into the masters room and take the keys from him and would free myself. I would then find Leo and then go back to my lovely abode.

The next morning when the master came to see where I was he saw that there was no one. He pinched himself again because he could not believe that it was true. No one had ever left this island or escaped if they were caught by the master. He went to check where Leo was. They saw that we both had escaped. Hearing this the master was down in the dumps.

I returned to my residence and saw my frantic mother worried and was wondering where I had gone. I narrated this incident to her and she could not believe it. She was aghast and her mouth was wider than a hippopotamus’s mouth. I even went and told this incident to my true-blue comrades but they could not believe it. Although this incident may not be believable it was indeed true and it will be etched in my mind forever.
