I vividly remember the day I first stepped into my school, back in summer 2009. Fast forward 13 years, and here I am, ending the first phase of my academic journey this March. The beginning of the end is often disheartening, but it brings along with it many memories I will cherish all through my life.
In the beginning, I was a timid boy, yet a dear student of my teachers. My first achievement in life was when I was selected into the school Prefect Body back in fourth standard. I was a 'Dispersal Squad member'. My friend Arnav was also selected, as a House Prefect, and watching him and many other friends receive better positions in the Prefect Body acted as motivation for me. I really wished to be the Head Boy, and after a long journey full of ups and downs, and learning many new things, today I am the Head Boy of the Secondary Prefect Body. The leadership qualities I attained from my seniors are going to be with me lifelong.
Another memory which will remain close to my heart is the annual day celebration of my school - 'Balsatsang'. Once again, I was rather shy at first, and was given side roles in the plays or dance, and watching my friends get the main role, while standing on the side and clapping for them served as another tool motivating me to open up and work hard. Skip forward a couple of years, and after attending drama classes and what not, I finally got the main role in the Balsatsang play of 8th standard. I was the happiest child on earth at that moment.
The memories of slowly climbing up the ladders of life in all these joy filled moments are going to be embedded in my brain for a long time, and this journey would be incomplete without mentioning the various events and trips organised by our school. The sleepovers, field trips, movies, theater plays, museums, overnight camps, and all the other things are going to be the simple pleasures of life which I will forever appreciate. These are the few handpicked memories of my years at school as I look back, chosen out of a host of events that cannot be put expressed in words. A new beginning lies ahead, and with that, new memories too, but the memories of my early life will always be special.
